A new connection between Korea and Alaska — bringing people, places, industries, and possibilities closer together.
Discover Our Purpose →What We DoAlaska is more than a resource frontier or a spectacular place to visit. KAI explores how Korea and Alaska can connect their capabilities, communities, and everyday lives — creating practical opportunities through long-term cooperation.
Korea and Alaska are both shaped by the Pacific, the North, and relationships across borders. KAI seeks to understand those connections rather than begin with commerce alone.
We begin with research, local dialogue, and small practical trials — then expand only where real needs and viable partnerships are found.
KAI explores four connected fields that may turn the differences between Korea and Alaska into practical opportunities. These are initiatives under study, not services currently offered.

Explore fishing, canoeing, hiking, aviation, and extended stays that allow visitors to experience Alaska rather than simply pass through.

Explore respectful connections with Alaskan communities, including Alaska Native communities, through food, education, cultural understanding, and shared research.
A home can become a place to experience Alaska. A trade route can connect new markets. Cultural exchange can build lasting relationships. KAI seeks to turn these connections into practical opportunities.
Korea and Alaska are very different places. Korea has developed world-class capabilities in shipbuilding, manufacturing, construction, technology, and global trade despite limited land and natural resources. Alaska has vast land, abundant resources, and extraordinary wilderness, yet faces long distances, severe winters, and high construction and transportation costs.
These differences can become opportunities. Korea may contribute to Alaska in ways distinct from the traditional approaches of mainland America, bringing experience in efficient housing, logistics, practical engineering, and emerging energy technologies.
KAI seeks to explore compact modular homes, Korean floor heating, high-efficiency insulation, distributed power, energy storage, and locally appropriate energy solutions. Natural gas and new energy technologies need not be opposing choices: the challenge is to make energy reliable, affordable, and useful where people live and work.
At the same time, Alaska offers Korea opportunities for long-stay living, nature experiences, trade, and cultural exchange. Our vision is to connect these complementary strengths through local partnerships, careful research, and small practical demonstrations.
